Research Interest:

Our studies involve using in vivo radionuclide imaging techniques (PET and SPECT) to detect cancer (brain and breast) and substance abuse (alcohol and cocaine). The research includes using multi-radiotracer imaging techniques to evaluate changes in brain dopamine system in cocaine abusers and normal aging process. Studies also include using metabolic images to evaluate effect of chronic alcohol abuse in alcoholics and to investigate effect of radiotherapy to brain tumor and non-tumoral brain tissue. We also integrate radionuclide imaging methods with other imaging modalities such as MR imaging.
