The Medical Image Processing Laboratory conducts investigations in medical
image processing and analysis. It is located in the Department of
Radiology in the School of Medicine, but is home to graduate
students from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
The laboratory is headed by Gene Gindi ,
Associate Professor of Radiology and Electrical Engineering.
Ongoing research projects
include SPECT and PET statistical image reconstruction, investigations
into task performance measures of image quality, and digital mammographic
tomosynthesis.
The laboratory was founded in 1992 by Gene Gindi.
